Early Life
Ayra starr was born in cotonou , benin but she grew up in lagos Nigerian into the family of Mr and Mrs Aderibigbe with four siblings her family move from cotonu to Nigerian due to her father business doing her secondary school period, she was raise in a loving and a caring family at the age of 10 she pick her interest in music still in school days started as a choir member in her secondary school, she got musically influenced by an international artist “Nicki minaji, she is always with her headphone listening to her song back in her secondary school days, Ayra Starr mum admit her interest in music and also encourage her dream.
Career
Her journey to greatness began as a model, she got signed to Quove model in 2018, she model for several companies such as “Esperanza woman, “Complete fashion magazine, and Mazelle studio etc. she began posting on her instagram page covers of celebrity songs like 2baba, wizkid, she comes out in “Eri Ife, music video {dear future wife}.
She began to pursue music in the age of 16 when she did several covers of popular artist songs and posted on the instagram she choose her stage name to be Ayra Starr with the meaning woke and eyes open by her own meaning, she posted on her page her first single “Damage, in December 2019 that got the attention of chief executive officer of Mavin [don jazzy] who later grant her a deal into mavin records. she became recognized in the music scene when she dropped her debut track “Away, which take some few weeks in the top 50 chart in the Nigeria’s turn table, the song also took 17 position on the billboard global chart, she later released her Ep in 2021, “19 & Dangerous, she was known globally recognized as Afropop and R&B artist as her genre of music, “Bloody Samaritan, as the lead song, the Ep appeared on the top 50 chart.
