Biography
Ama Serwah Genfi is a popular Ghanaian/ America singer,
songwriter publicly known with her stage name Amaarae
born on July 14, 1994, she is better known with
her fusion of R&B, pop, frobeat, Alte music ,
after her collaboration with some local and famous
artist she released her debut Ep titled
“Passionfruit Summer, in 2017, which eventually gave
her a room of notification into the entertainment industry.
Early Life
Ana was born and raised in Bronx, New York by her parents Bawuah and Kwaodwo Boateng Genfi, she is the eldest of two children, spent part of her early period in United State, Altanta, and Accra Ghana.
Career
Amaarae started Music very early at the age of 13 when she wrote her first song, growing up she shared that she spent most of her time listening and watching “Kelis, a popular American singer, while still in school she began making mixtapes at the age of 16 took her time to train her vocal and also developed a great songwriting skills.
In 2017 she returned to Ghana and released her debut album “Passionfruit summer, Ama was recorded as one of the Apple Music Africa Favourite New artists in 2018, from the point she earned fame she gained the opportunity to collaborate with artists like blaqbonz, stonebwoy, wande coal, BNXN, santi, jokey Radical.
Her second album “Fountain Baby, was released on June 2023 with the record of she being the first Ghanaian to peaked on NPR Tiny Desk.
